WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

 

We are thankful for Sandy Hoover’s service as secretary for the past 3 months.  Due to her returning to Alaska for an unspecified time period, we are seeking a replacement for her.  Rhonda Mease will be doing the necessary secretarial work for the summer.  All resumes, both inside and outside our church, will be considered.  Anyone interested, or if you know someone who would be interested, please submit a resume and cover letter to Carol Schrock, 434 Danvers Court, Orrville, OH 44667, or Darrell Smucker, 1497 Morgan, Wooster, OH 44691.

 

Friendship Circle is planning an outing to Berlin Flea Market, Saturday, June 9.   Meet at the church at 8:30am for car pooling.  We will be needing ladies to drive.  We will shop, do some sight seeing and then meet for lunch at the Dutch Harvest Restaurant (Currently Troyer's).  Come join the fun on this excursion into Holmes County.

 

Transport for Christ will hold its annual Truck Show and Benefit Auction, Saturday June 16 at Central Christian School in Kidron. The day includes a truck parade and chicken barbecue. See the bulletin board for more information.

 

Walk Across the Room-Again!  Many people have asked if there is any way to make up sessions they missed – the answer is YES!  I will happily loan out the DVD and a study guide on a first-come, first-serve basis.  It is also designed for small groups to study, so tell your group leaders.  Thanks again for the strong response to this material, and keep walking across the room. -Todd

 

Summer singing programs are beginning at Sonnenburg Mennonite Church, 14367 Hackett Road, Kidron, and all are welcome to attend.  Each event begins Sunday at 7.m. 

            June 3, Contemporary singing led by Mark Sutter

            June 17, Gospel Sing led by Kevin Himes

            July 22, Traditional hymn sing led by Ellis Miller

            July 29, Taize’ worship led by Terry & Kay Shue

 

The Black Swamp Benefit Bazaar will be held at the Fulton County Fairgrounds on June 15 and 16.  The proceeds from this bazaar benefit Sunshine Children’s home and disaster relief efforts through MCC. Donated items are requested as well as volunteers to help with the event.  For more information see the poster on the bulletin board in the west hallway.
