WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

 

Next Sunday, August 5 at 7 p.m. – Josiah Ramseyer is being baptized at Camp Luz. His family would like to invite everyone to their home following the baptism for refreshments.

 

It was a wonderful week at VBS. We averaged around 44 kids and 38 workers.  I would like to thank everyone for making the week a success.

The Coordinating Council has asked Louise Hershberger to be on the Discernment of Gifts Committee for a four-year term beginning in September.  She has consented to have her name on a ballot.  This ballot will be given to you next Sunday, August 5, for your approval.

 

Youth and Mentors, remember Fun Night at Putt & Stuff tomorrow evening, July 30, at 6:00 p.m. This is a time change from the original time.  Bring finger food to go with hot dogs, and $10-$15 for activities.

 

The Book, “A Merry Heartis missing from the library without any record of who has it.  We would appreciate its prompt return as others are asking for it. Thanks, the Librarians.

 

August 11 is Church Family Fun Night at the Steiner’s. FARM FUN DAY!

We will have an exciting night of games for all ages, including a pie eating contest.  Come for supper at 5 p.m. Sign up to bring food.  Volunteers are needed to help run games.  Talk to Ron or Barb.  Check the flier in your mailbox for details.  Bring your friends!

 

All girls interested attending Girls Jamboree at Camp Luz, August 10 – 12, should contact Louise Hershberger. SMC Mennonite Women have offered to pay half of the registration fee.

 

Central Christian has several coaching positions open for the 2007-08 school year.  Positions for boys and girls basketball as well as girls softball are all currently available.  If anyone is interested or would like to inquire further about the openings, please send an email to zkooker@ccscomets.org or contact CCS for an application.

 

Luz Fest!  Camp Luz is hosting a music festival celebrating the great Christian music that is developing all around us, on August 18.  This will be a day full of great music, fun activities, and awesome worship.  The day begins at 1:00 p.m. with outdoor fun and the music begins at 4:00 and will continue until 10:00ish.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase.  Tickets are $10 for all activities.  See www.campluz.com and click on the Luz Fest link for more information!  To pre-register call 330 683-1246.
