WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

 

 

The Confirmation Class from Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hinkley Ohio is with us today. This group of young people has come to experience the worship service of another denomination, and to learn about our faith as Mennonites. They will be joining our youth for lunch following the service. All MYFers and Jr. Youth are encouraged to stay for pizza.

 

There is still a need for food items and helpers for  the  Wednesday night All Church meal. Please sign up on the bulletin board by the secretary’s office.

 

Anyone interested in singing at Christmas—the choir will be practicing this evening from 5 -6 p.m. We will be sharing our songs during the whole advent season.

 

Save the Date! Herb and Kevin Himes will be leading an evening of worship through piano/organ music and hymn singing on Sunday, November 18, sy 7:00 p.m., at the Salem Mennonite Church in Kidron. Come gather as a community and worship the Lord together.

 

“Healthy Walk” (sponsored by SMC Friendship Circle) Ladies, Come to the church Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for a “healthy walk” around the church, inside or out—good for the body & soul!  If you have a request for additional times or days, please talk to Louise Hershberger.

 

An area inter-church volleyball league is forming.  If you have interest, call Scott Bacon, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, at 330-669-2111.

 

Citrus Sales! The MYF, Jr. MYF and Mongolia ’08 Team are selling oranges and grapefruit. There is information about the fruit on the bulletin board by the secretary’s office. The fruit is picked fresh a few days before delivery, which will be mid-December. Please sign the list on the board if you are interested, and someone from these groups will contact you.

 

Come enjoy Central Christian High School’s fall production of The Imaginary Invalid, November 9, 10, and 11.  Show times are 7:00 on Friday and Saturday. Sunday’s performance is at 3:00. On Thursday, November 8, at 12:30, there will be a matinee dress rehearsal open to senior citizens.  If Central teams are involved in tournament games, Friday’s performance will be held on Thursday, November 8 at 7:00.

·         Our Youth Pastor Rebecca – pray that she would be as effective as possible in sharing Christ with the youth, and that she would be a loving wife and mother.

·          Peace and strength for Lori Colon and her family as they care for her critically ill infant daughter, Isabelle.
