WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

Ruth Steiner celebrated her 99th birthday this past week. Honor her today with your thoughts, best wishes, and prayers.

Please pray often for, and send cards to those who are no longer able to attend our services:  Lloyd & Trudie Curie, Paul & Ruth Kauffman, mary Lou Laird, Robert & Mary Miller, Arthur & Velma Miller, Dorothy Schrock, Merl Smucker, Anna Seko, and Rolland Villard.  Also, encourage those who struggle with health issues:  Mary Amstutz, Mabel Hartman, Martha Miller, Ruth Steiner, Ivan & Geneva Swartzentruber and Irene Troyer.

Thank-you to those who helped with and supported the Mongolia Fund-raiser meal.  The net amount raised was $2083.00.

Inside the Big Blue Marble is the theme for the Young Adult Retreat at Camp Luz, December 14-16, 2007. The cost is $70 per person, and the retreat is for those 18 -30. Pastor Tom Michaels will be challenging us to explore our worldview. Go to www.campluz.com for more information or to register.

The 73rd rendition of Handel’s Messiah will be Sunday, December 16 at 2:30 P.M. at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, with Bill Mateer conducting. Help us make a joyful noise and come join the chorus (and bring a friend!).  Chorus rehearsals will be Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15 at 7:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.  Come worship with us and celebrate God’s master plan for the world, as expressed in this wonderful oratorio.

On the evenings of December 14 and 15, a limited number of people will have a chance to step back 500 years in history and mingle with dukes, princes and knights and Central’s Varsity Singers in their annual Christmas Madrigal Feast.  An evening of festivity, food, music, noble speeches, and laughter will be a part of this event which is fast becoming an expected tradition.  Appetizers will be served at 6:30 each evening.  Tickets cost $25. Contact Kristen Hilty at the school to make reservations: 330-857-7311 or khilty@ccscomets.org.
