WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC. ..

How has God been with you this past year? Please write your stories and give them to Pastor Todd today, or email them no later than January 3. These will be a part of our worship service on January 6.

The MYF would like to invite all young adults to a game night here at the church this Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

The Worship Committee would like to thank all who have been faithfully wearing their name tags during the worship service for the past number of months.  Many name tags are in need of repair, so we are not asking that they continue to be worn unless you would like to.  We will be continuing to evaluate this aspect of worship in the coming months.

Youth / Mentors: Wednesday, January 9, we will meet here at the church from 7 – 8:30 p.m.  On Sunday, January 20, we will have a time of dedication in the worship service for each youth and mentor.

Our Wednesday evening All Church Night meals and activities will begin on January 16.  Some of you have expressed interest in planning / being in charge of a meal.  A sign up sheet is on the bulletin board if you would like to plan, help, or clean up.  Check out the list soon.  Thank you.

Thank you all for the encouraging Christmas cards I received, and bless all of you.  – Irene Troyer

Thank you to all the church family for standing by us, sending cards, flowers, ushers, food, music, sound, and the many other kindnesses you gave us during the past two weeks.  And a special thanks to Todd for all his compassion and support.    –The Family of Merl Smucker

My family and I thank you very much for the kind generosity of your hearts. You extended God’s love to us this past week as we celebrated life and said goodbye for a time to my father, Merl Smucker.  So many gifts from God’s people were offered to create a wonderful service and tribute:  To those of you who offered us your kind words, warm smiles, cards, flowers, the refreshing of my memory of names and relationships, to those of you who shared your memories, music, the gift of your time, creativity, helps, preparation, clean-up, lifting, administration, speaking, firm handshakes and humor, and the willingness and effort to come out in the cold December weather to share your loving hearts with us—we are most profoundly grateful. You have truly been a testament of how all the gifts of the body of Christ working together allow many to be blessed.  Gorda (Smucker) DePasqua
