WHAT’S
HAPPENING AT SMC . . .
January’s song of the month is “Heart of Worship” by Matt
Redman. Matt wrote this song after a
season of worship services where all outward aids to worship were stripped
away. He says, “…at first the meetings
were a bit awkward…but we soon began to learn how to bring heart offerings to
God without the external trappings…”. May the words of this song help us each to
rediscover the heart of worship.
Congratulations to Megan and Hank
Reifsnyder on the
birth of their son, Brock Henry Reifsnyder.
Brock was born January 3, and weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces. Ruth Reifsnyder and Dean and Rhonda Mease are
Brock’s proud grandparents.
Dorothy
Schrock was admitted to Dunlap hospital on Wednesday following a fall. She
had broken her wrist in a previous fall, and now she is suffering with a broken
hip. Let’s remember Dorothy and her
family with our cards and prayers.
We extend our sympathy to the family of Ella Pearl
Smucker. Ella Pearl passed away
Wednesday morning, and the calling hours and funeral were held here at the
church yesterday morning.

CHURCH COOKBOOK: Our first ever SMC cookbook is being
compiled under the direction of Friendship Circle Committee. All are welcome to submit recipes (men
included). Stop by the display table in the hall. If you have any questions, ask

Friendship Circle – All Ladies: Remember to sign up for
the brunch at Velda Rohrer’s this Saturday, January 19, at 10:00 a.m. Also, more recipe submission forms are
available on the table in the hallway.
Anyone who would like to quilt, bring a friend and come in the
mornings, 9:30 – noon, Tuesday through Friday.
There is a quilt set up in the room behind the kitchen.
