WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

 

In your mailbox today is a letter from the Pastoral Relations Committee regarding Pastors Todd & Rebecca’s contract renewal. Please read over this letter carefully.

 

All women and girls are invited to a baby shower for Megan and Brock Reifsnyder Saturday, February 9, at 2 p.m.

 

Thank you so very much for the many prayers, support and encouragement during my hospital stay and recovery. –Mabel Horst.

 

.The Fierce Goodbye, a movie dealing with suicide, will be shown tonight at Crown Hill Mennonite Church, at 6:30 p.m..  All are welcome.

 

Youth – Mentors- Parents of Youth: Wednesday, February 13th will be the Youth-Mentor meeting and we are inviting the parents of the youth for a night designed for family relationships. We have invited Rhoda Steiner from Springhaven, Inc., (formerly Crown Center for Counseling) to give input for “A Healthier Family Life.” Make sure to include this in your schedule.

 

On Feb. 10, we will be having a carry-in meal following the morning service.  Following this meal, all are invited to stay for a question and answer time with the Pastoral Relations Committee. PRC will answer questions regarding the contract renewal vote for Todd & Rebecca, which will take place on Feb. 17.

 

Thanks to those of you who signed up to help with Wednesday evening meals.  Help is still needed for future meals. Check the list on the bulletin board and see when you can help

 

The budget for the support of our Mongolia Missionaries has been met for this year. Thank you for your generosity, and Praise the Lord!

 

Discover Bluffton” Dessert ReceptionBluffton University will host a regional reception on Sunday, February 10 at 7 p.m. at the Pines Golf Club and Restaurant in Orrville.  All high school age students and parents are invited to attend.  Contact the Bluffton Admissions office at 1-800-488-3257 for more information or to place a reservation.

 

The 2008 Winter Bible Institute will be held February 2-3 at Oak Grove Mennonite Church.  Loren johns from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary will present from the Gospel of John on Saturday (9:30-11:00am, and 7:00-8:330 pm) and Sunday (9:30-10:30am). ·         Danny Boney—pray that Rich and Velma and we as a church family will be able to find ways to meet his emotional and spiritual needs.
