WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

Five lilies have been purchased this year in memory of loved ones who have experienced the resurrection of new life: Melba Myers (Linda Myers), Levi Yoder (Ella Yoder & family), Raymond Reifsnyder (Brock Reifsnyder), Clifford Mease (Dean & Rhonda Mease), and Elvin & Melissa Horst (Dean & Rhonda Mease).  Three lilies have also been purchased to honor special loved ones: Elizabeth Ross (Richard Ross), and Fiona Miller (Anita Tenney) and Pastors Todd & Rebecca Martin & Family (anonymous).

The Discernment of Gifts Committee is pleased to announce that Lila Smucker will serve the balance of this church year as Worship Commission Chairperson.

An SMC coordinator/recruiter is needed to  for the 2008 crop walk. The Crop Walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 4. If you have interest in helping with this ministry, please see the secretary.

How about some peace and quiet?  Do you ever get tired of all the noise at home and at work?  If you do, next Sunday’s silent service here at SMC is for you.  At 8 p.m. this “come and go”, self-directed hour of worship will involve reading scripture and prayer, but mostly LISTENING for God’s voice, then responding.  Come, be still and know that God still speaks through silence—when we take the time to listen.

Recipes are still being accepted for the Friendship Circle Cookbook:  Ladies and men, you may continue to submit recipes.  Please put these in Louise Hershberger’s church mailbox.

April 9th Youth – Mentor Mini Careers Festival: This will be the regular monthly meeting.

SCRAPBOOKERS: Contact Kathy Gerber or Barb Steiner if you are interested in meeting March 28.

Please correct Rich and Velma Shetler’s phone number in your directory. The correct number should be, 330-682-9142.

Those who wish to subscribe or renew your subscription to The Mennonite should turn in your forms or talk to the secretary by April 13.

Please keep the Mongolia 08 fund-raiser yard/garage sale in mind as you do your spring cleaning. The Yard/Garage Sale will be April 26.

Tuesday evening, March 25th, P.Graham Dunn, Inc., invites you to a free Spring Celebration at Central Christian School in Kidron.  A special worship service will include music from local musicians: Sommer’s Sister’s String Quartet, Holmes County Bluegrass Band, and Central Christian High

School’s Varsity Singers.  Guest speaker, Joseph Stowell, former President

of the Moody Bible Institute, will give a message that will inspire and encourage us on our Christian journey.  Doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

Hallelujah!

Tonya Starner, who serves in Mongolia in translation and publication

work, is on home assignment and will be at the next Mongolia Prayer Breakfast (April 19, at 7:30 a.m.). Everyone is invited, and our 08 Mongolia Team is especially encouraged to attend.
