WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

Thank you for your concerns, prayers, calls, and flowers during my recent illness and recovery. Our plans are to leave Arizona on Saturday to travel home.  Please pray for safety for us as we travel.  – Al Miller

Please join the Jr. High youth for supper this evening, between 5 and 7:30 p.m. at CiCi’s Pizza in Wooster to raise money for their summer trip to The Lighthouse in Canton.  Simply place your receipt in the box provided at the restaurant that evening and they will donate 10% of the total receipts to our group.

Ladies, you are invited to another evening of scrapbooking here at the church May 2, at 6:00 p.m.  If you have any questions, see Kathy Gerber or Barb Steiner.

Next Sunday is the Smithville Community Crop Walk,  If you are unable to walk, please pledge your support for those who will be walking.  Roger Amstutz is in the hallway today to help you sign up.

The Lantz family will be having a blood drive in honor of Tom’s birthday on Saturday, May 3rd, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Wilbur Berkey Field House.  We would like to encourage everyone to celebrate a life well lived by donating blood that day for the many cancer patients who are receiving chemotherapy and are experiencing low blood counts that are a side effect of their treatment.  Tom enjoyed quality of life during his battle with multiple myeloma because of the generosity of many.  In a 3-year period, he received 182 units of red blood cells and 179 units of platelets.  We hope you will consider remembering Tom by joining us or by contacting the American Red Cross at www.givelife.org.

New Destiny Treatment Center is pleased to announce that the award-winning Collinsworth Family will offer a concert of Family Worship and Praise for the benefit of the Treatment Center on May 9, 2008, at Grace Church in Norton.  Tickets are $20 for dinner and the concert, or $10 for the concert only.
