WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

Congratulations to Isaac Ramseyer on completing all of his Bible Memory verses.

Thank You!  To all of you dear SMC’ers who sent caring notes, phone calls, and called our names to our Father in Heaven.  How Good to have a church family that walks with each other through “valley times”.  We are looking forward to again being at SMC, mid to late May.  Lovingly, Lewy and Betty Ebersole

Thank you to all who have sent cards and letters to Brenda Miller.  This is a trying time for all, and she is doing as well as can be expected.  Please keep praying for her and for all the decisions that need to be made in the future.  She appreciates your prayers for herself and also for the women in her cell block and all those in the jail.  Martha Miller

(Feel free to read the letter from Brenda on the board outside the secretary’s office.)

Thank you so much to all who came to CiCi’s last Sunday to support the Jr. High Group.  We had a great turnout of people & earned $167 from tips and receipts.  We are thankful for all who helped us.

We extend our sympathy to Wilbur and Ann Miller.  Wilbur’s brother Glen passed away Monday.  The funeral was held Thursday in Berlin.

This Friday, our Mennonite Women are scheduled to work on quilts/comforters for the Relief Sale, at the quilting marathon at MCC Connections.  Get a carload and come, morning, afternoon, or all day, 9-5.

FREE CONCERT!                          Remember to invite your friends to come out this Saturday evening at       7:00 p.m. for a free concert featuring Hilary Watson.  She is a 23-year-old acoustic pop & folk artist from Southern            California, who has toured with Fernando Ortega.

                                      Come for a blessing!

Parents of children in Kid’s Praise & Bell Choir:  Please have your children at church by 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 11.  We will be practicing the bells.

There will be a Youth-Mentor meeting on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 p.m.  This will be a special meeting on dating.  Please come and enjoy.

“Restore your Spirit” For all women, ages 18 on up:  You deserve a retreat May 23 (Friday evening) & May 24 at a peaceful Inn in Holmes County.  Trish Berg, local author, newspaper columnist & mom, will speak Saturday morning following breakfast.  Come Friday evening for laughter, food, games & relaxation.  Sign up at the table in hallway today.  See Chris Miller or Louise Hershberger with questions.

Will our children know peace?  Peacemaking is an important theme in Anabaptist theology.  This summer we have unique resources to help teach peace to our whole congregation in worship and Sunday school.  These workshops will be led by Norma Duerksen, Ohio Conference Resource Advocate, and Amy Gingerich, Gather ‘Round Editor.  A registration fee of $10 per congregation will be received at the door.
