WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SMC . . .

Congratulations to Rachel Gerber and Sara Landis on completing all of their Bible Memory verses.

 

Brenda Miller’s new address is 146 W. South Street, Wooster, Ohio. Brenda has expressed much appreciation for your encouraging cards and letters.

 

Today in your mailbox is a volunteer form listing the ministry positions of the church.  We encourage you to volunteer to serve at SMC in the coming year; your volunteer form will be a great help in the discernment process.  –The Discernment of Gifts Committee

 

New DVDs!  Thirteen DVDs of the NOOMA series by Ron Bell have been donated to our adult library, including the titles; Rain, Trees, Noise, Sunday, Rhythm, and Today.  In the Junior Library, you will find new Max Lucado, Adventures in Odyssey, and Jay Jay the Jet Plane and other Focus on the Family DVDs.

 

All are welcome to celebrate Ryan’s graduation by attending his graduation party, May 31, 12 -3:30 p.m. at Ryan’s home.  See the note on the bulletin board.

 

The Real Life (College & Beyond) group is planning to attend the ALIVE Festival at Clay’s Park, June 18-21.  Watch for more information, and visit the ALIVE website at www.alive.org.

 

OrrVilla Retirement Community invites you to an open house on Sunday, May 18.  Several assisted living apartments in Maple Terrace will be open for tours.  Open house hours are 1:30 to 4:30 PM.  OrrVilla is located at 333 E. Sassafras St, just east of Dunlap Hospital.  Look for the “Open House” signs.  Find out why OrrVilla is an enjoyable place to live.

 

Several wash baskets and storage containers were left at the church from the Mongolia garage sale.  You can claim these items in the east hallway this morning.

 

Name tags are still available!  Your first name will be placed above the line, and two lines, with up to 16 characters each (including spaces) can be placed below the line.  This can be your last name, a short Bible verse, or any other short inspirational message.  See Rhonda or Todd.

In Our Prayers . . .

·         Pastor Todd, that he would be a good husband and father

·         Our SMC friends and family, Paul and Denise Rufener, and Jake, Brenda, Isabelle and Seth Hostetler

·         The women of our church who are gathering for the retreat in Charm next Friday and Saturday, that they will experience a time of growth and refreshment

·         The survivors of the tragedies in China and Myanmar, and Mennonite Central Committee as they raise funds and send relief to these countries.
