Mennonite Women are collecting new or gently used baby clothing, sizes newborn to 24 months for the Pregnancy Care Center.  You will find a basket in the west hallway where you can place these items.

 

SUMMER GIRL’S CLUB (for grades 1 – 8):

            Come for a swim party at Anna & Katie Hershberger’s this Tuesday           from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  We will have a short devotional and a time      to report on the books you are reading if you wish. Bring   your card           notebook.

 

            Girls Jamboree will be August 8-10 at Camp Luz.  Watch your bulletin       for more information.

 

Open Circle Eat-out will be at noon on Tuesday at Jake’s Restaurant in Wooster.  Sandy & Ginny Oyer will host.

 

Seeker’s Class Eat Out will be Wednesday evening at 6:30 at Green Leaf Restaurant. Elvin and Emma Mast will host.

 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS COMING!  Parents can begin registering children for VBS at Smithville Mennonite, for the week of July 28 - August 1. You can register on line through the church website, or watch for a registration form in your mailbox.

 

$106.00 will bring us to our goal of $1000 for the publication of 1000 books, Lessons from a Sheepherder! Tonya Starner will oversee the publication and distribution of these books to the lonely sheepherders in Mongolia.  You can be a part of this project by giving your donation to Mary Naumoff today!

 

The global food crisis is being called “a silent tsunami”.  Food prices for staple items like rice, wheat and beans have doubled in the past year.  People who survive on $1 per day need to spend as much as 80% of their income on food.  Please join Compassion International in a day of fasting and prayer this Wednesday, June 25.  Please join with Jesus in prayer, honor them with Him, and ask, “What might I do?”

In Our Prayers . . .

·         Pastor Todd, that he and the rest of the Mongolia Team would have safety in their travels. Pray that God will use their time in Mongolia in a mighty way, and that God will encourage and strengthen their families that remain in at home.

·         Fred Augsburger, a cousin to the Myers family, suffering from pancreatic cancer. Pray that he will be accepted at Cleveland Clinic, and that treatment will be successful.

·          

·         The global food crisis. See paragraph.

·         Mennonite World Conference is sending a deacon couple and calling for two days of prayer and fasting, June 26 & 27, as Zimbabweans face a tense runoff election on June 27.
