Anyone who would enjoy watching Orrville’s parade (up close and personal) is welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets at 7:00 Tuesday evening and watch it in Mease’s front yard at 925 W. Market Street.  Park on Washington Blvd.

Used book donations for the August 1 & 2 Ohio Relief Sale may be taken to Central Christian School, July 28 – 30.

 

Mennonite Women are collecting new or gently used baby clothing, sizes newborn to 24 months for the Pregnancy Care Center.  You will find a basket in the west hallway where you can place these items.

 

            VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS COMING!  Parents can begin registering children for VBS at Smithville Mennonite, for the week of July 28 - August 1. You can register on line through the church website, or watch for a registration form in your mailbox.

 

Girls Jamboree for girls, grades 3 – 8, will be August 8-10 at Camp Luz.  Watch your bulletin for more information.

 

Smithville United Methodist Church invites children ages 4 through grade 6 to their Vacation Bible School, July21 – 23, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  The children will be served a light supper before classes begin.

 

Do you like to write?  Do you enjoy leading worship?  Are you moved by particularly good word choice in worship?  Then you’re invited to contribute to a second volume of Words for Worship, a popular 1995 publication.  This new book will be geared to Mennonite lay worship leaders, pastors, and friends in the larger Christian family who are attracted to Mennonite thought and worship.  We are seeking fresh, original Mennonite worship resources.  You may submit up to 12 samples of your work.  Look through your past worship materials, or write something new.  We especially encourage younger or new writers to submit.  Submission deadline:  September 15, 2008.  Find more information and submit online at www.mpn.net/wordsforworship.

In Our Prayers . . .

·         Pastor Todd and the Mongolia Team; Continue to pray for safety and strength for the men, and that God will use them to further His Kingdom in Mongolia.

·         Pray for healing for Donna Armitage, Mark Smucker, suffering a relapse of leukemia, Mitch - Todd’s friend from ALIVE, and others with health concerns.

 

·         Brenda Miller; pray for her friends, John, James, and Mary, and other incarcerated acquaintances who are unsaved.
